They’re already planning to transition to Enlightenment for Budgie 11. Budgie 10 will still be updated while they’re building up to that update, though, so for now it’s fine. I just hope it isn’t as messy as what I heard about KDE 3 transition to KDE 4 – KDE 5 has been great so far but I heard KDE 4 transition was bad.

By that same token, though, Pop is also something to worry about, but they have more resources so I’m not as worried about them.

Vince’s colloid dark is a great theme including his icons, adding latte-dock and Vince’s monterey-medium layout looks beautiful

The problem it bases itself on GNOME. Not sure how GTK4 and libadwaita will affect them over time.

I use one of vinceluice’s themes, usually Monterey-dark (used to be WhiteSur-dark). It’s pretty tough finding themes that works with Flatpak, but thankfully vince’s stuffs usually works great.

When I downloaded it I wasn’t expecting much because their website was not really amazing. I was quite pleased with the whole experience, and it was the first distro I found that had working WiFi on my iMac out of the box.

It’s the Apps that people use, not the layout of the desktop. If the Apps are non-existent, or take significant use of the Terminal to install, the growth of Linux will be stifled. Installing programs in Windows is pretty straightforward.

That said, there is a high percentage of people who use their PCs for browsing, e-mail, writing documents, and spreadsheets. The Linux Apps for that are well-developed, regardless of distribution.
