1 min

Fedora, the popular Linux distribution is having an upcoming release on June 2017 with its latest version Fedora 26. As of today all the Fedora releases consists of popular desktop environment spins – KDE Plasma, XFCE, LXDE, Mate-Compiz, Cinnamon and Soas desktop. The Qt suite of LXDE aka LXQt is currently under development which is suited best for low-end hardwares. However, a LXQt spin is proposed as well for Fedora 26 release on June 2017 this year.

The development of current LXQt spin of Fedora is in full swing and new test build is available now for download.

Here are the list of proposed applications which might be available for Fedora 26 with LXQt spin:

  • LXQt 0.11.x
  • PCManFM-Qt (LXQt file manager)
  • Ark (archiver, from KDE)
  • Dragon (media player, from KDE)
  • KCalc (calculator, from KDE)
  • KWrite (text editor, from KDE)
  • LXImage-Qt (image viewer)
  • Psi+ (XMPP client)
  • qBittorrent (torrent client)
  • Qlipper (clipboard tool)
  • qpdfview (pdf and ps viewer)
  • Quassel (IRC client)
  • QupZilla (web browser)
